Auður Hafsteinsdóttir (violin): graduated from the Reykjvik College of Music at a very early age. Her teacher there was Guðný Guðmundsdóttir. She went to the US and studied at the New England Conservatory of Music were she finished her Bachelor´s Degree. She went to study with Almita and Roland Vamos in the Oberlin College in Ohio and finished her Master´s Degree in 1987. Auður was awarded the Reykjavik Honoray Salary for Artistis for three years and well as the Artist Salary from the Icelandic Government. She has been an active musician in Iceland and member of “Trio Nordica” as well as “Caput ensemble” for years. She has performed as a solist with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra and performes regularely as a solist and a member of chamber music ensembles. She has performed in the US, Scandinavia as well as Japan and is currently on the faculty at the Reykjavik College of Music. She has recorded various CD´s and participated in various competions. She has performed in many international festivals and appears regularely with the Icelandic Chamber Music Society.
