This world renowned orchestra has been led from the beginning by conductor and violinist Oldrich Vlcek, who founded it and built from a relatively small orchestra, an ensemble, which today is a sought - after partner for world stars s.a. Placído Domingo, Igor Oistrach, Mstislav Rostropovich and others. The ensemble has a wide repertoire consisting of works by Mozart, Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, Mendelssohn Grieg and Elgar as well as the works of 20th century Czech composers. They frequently cooperate with prominent Czech choirs like the Prague Philharmonic. They have issued over 170 CD´s produced for various labels and received many awards for their recordings. They are regular performers in international music festivals all over the world as well as in Prague were they perform annually at the major Czech music Festival - Prague spring and the Pontes International Festival.
