Anna Guðný Guðmundsdóttir studied piano at Reykjavík Music School and finished her Post Graduate Diploma at Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, focusing mainly on chamber music and accompaniment. She has been an active musician since 1982 and is among Iceland's most prestigious pianists.

She regularly performs as a soloist e.g. with Iceland Symphony Orchestra, with various chamber ensembles and as an accompanist to classical or contemporary singers.

 

Anna has performed at Reykjavik Arts Festival, Reykjavík Midsummer Music, Reykholt Chamber Music Festival, to name a few festivls, and she has made several recordings.

 

Anna Guðný is a member of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Reykjavik Chamber Orchestra and teaches at the recently founded College of Music.
